Why does Autodesk Forma appear in this comparison?

Autodesk announced in March 2026 that Construction Cloud is now Autodesk Forma. Previous names still appear in documentation and project environments. Identify the product and workflow involved. The brand change alone does not require a technical migration of BIM 360 projects.

Can BIM 360 already display point cloud data?

Yes. Autodesk documents ReCap/RCP review workflows with associated files and prerequisites. Compare the route that applies to your data. A separately published cloud and one embedded in NWD can behave differently online.

Does the ATIS.cloud Revit plugin replace cloud worksharing?

No. The documented plugin inserts a streamed point cloud into Revit. Co-authoring and synchronising a Revit model between designers is a different service with separate access requirements.

Are the two platforms automatically synchronised?

The workflow described here uses compatible files and explicitly managed references. It does not include native synchronisation between the two platforms. If you need a specific connector, describe the software, data and intended exchanges to the team so the requirement can be assessed.

In March 2026, Autodesk Construction Cloud joined the Autodesk Forma brand, and Autodesk Docs became Forma Data Management. BIM 360 remains in use across projects and documentation. These names cover document, coordination and construction workflows: identify the product in use before comparing the functions your team needs.

Different people need different access

Clients review through a link; project members collaborate with assigned permissions. Set up each access route for its task: review, annotation, source-file download or project administration.

Designers co-author in Revit

Revit Cloud Worksharing supports co-authoring and central-model synchronisation. Teams choose it for that function, separately from point cloud access.

You also want to produce from the point cloud

ATIS.cad includes Scan-to-Plan and Scan-to-BIM for producing plans and building objects in the browser, with PDF, DWG, DXF or IFC exports according to the deliverable. Early access is planned until the end of November 2026 and activated by the ATIS.cloud team. For work that stays in Revit, the separate streaming plugin inserts the reference point cloud.

Coordination follows an established process

Automated clash detection has supported formats, coordination spaces and issue workflows. If your project relies on Model Coordination, retain that process in the comparison.
